Vote! Most Anticipated Films of 2015

image

Okay all, you know the drill, it’s time once again to Vote!

With a new year comes a clean slate. The films of 2014 take their leave and we’re left with nothing but speculative anticipation and excitement about the year ahead in cinema, a significant reason why I love being a cinephile, in contrast to every other fandom. Our ability to teem with an uncontrollable eagerness and curiosity in regards to forthcoming films never ceases to amaze me. With that in mind, it’s time to voice your opinion on what we should look forward to in the world of cinema in 2015.

I know I’m a tad late with this, but below you’ll find a rather long list of films set for release in 2015 (took me quite a while to throw it together). Simply select the three at the top of your “most anticipated” list, if I’ve left out one of your selections, feel free to write it in and a couple of weeks from now I will post the results!

Poll Results: Favourite Sequel

I know it’s taken me quite some time to release the results of our latest poll, but the running was so tight, I decided to give it a little bit of an extended window. Now though, after receiving a record number of total votes, I feel it’s the perfect time to unleash the results.

If you don’t recall, which I’m sure most of you don’t seeing as the poll originated so long ago, I asked you which sequel is your all-time favourite. To be honest, it’s the usual culprits at the top of the list. That being said, I think you’ll be fairly surprised at where the film’s ended up in the voting and how close films two through four finished.

Really quick however, just a little administrative work to get out of the way before I present the results. The Guest List segment is still running and I’m completely out of brilliant top 10s from you lovely people. I know there’s quite a few who expressed interest, even presented topics, but never actually sent in anything. So, if you’d like to contribute, I’ll post the criteria below and we can get your entry published as soon as possible!

All you need to do is shoot me an e mail (thecinemamonster@gmail.com) with your name, website info (if you have one), and the topic you have chosen for your top 10. If I like what I see, I’ll give you the all clear and you can begin composing your entry. Make sure to include a descriptive, yet brief introduction and a picture or clip for every entry in your top 10. Use my own top 10s and other Guest List entries as references. Then, send it back to me and we will discuss a date of publish!

Now, without further delay, on to the results!

Vote! Greatest Sequel of All Time

41905-batman-Movie-wallpaperology3

A sequel, much like one’s plans in life, doesn’t always pan out. And no matter how stellar the predecessor, the sequel almost never lives up to the hype or even reaches remotely close to where the original set the bar. They’re typically rushed, contrived, and created simply to make fast, easy money. On the other hand, every so often, a sequel comes along and trumps its predecessor. It’s well thought-out, It expands on the story, and creates more relatable, three-dimensional characters.

So, with that in mind, I took to my movie collection and did some research to find out what the general consensus was on the greatest sequels of all time. Of course my opinion differed from most, but nonetheless I compiled a list of front-runners and inserted them into a poll. Now, all I ask of you is to vote for your all time favourite sequel! Feel free to write in your response if I have not listed it below. And let’s say in a couple of weeks I’ll release the results.

Also, I’m still accepting submissions for “The Guest List” segment. So if you’d like to contribute your very own top 10 to The Cinema Monster, here’s how!

Most Anticipated Films of 2014: Poll Results

If you recall, a little while back I asked you to vote for the 3 films that you were most looking forward to in 2014. So, for the next couple of weeks, the poll has been collecting data and the response, much like the inception poll of ‘Vote!,’ has been tremendous. Now, I appear before you with the results! However, before I get to them, I’d like to inform you all that the latest poll will be up and ready for your votes early next week, so look forward to that.

Also, I am now accepting submissions for ‘Mystery Article of the Week!’ It can be anything you’ve written, new and old, about whatever you see fit. Of course, we cinephiles would prefer the article to be about film, but it’s not a requirement. Additionally, I need some new “Guest List” submissions, so please don’t hesitate! Compile those lists and send them to me. You can send all articles and top 10 lists to thecinemamonster@gmail.com…

As you can probably guess, much like the last poll, the percentages are a tad low. That being said, when considering the sheer number of films that received a vote, the minuscule number beside each film below isn’t all that concerning. So, without further delay, let’s get to the results!

Best Films of 2013: Poll Results

Well, if I was to say that The Cinema Monster’s first attempt at “Vote!” was an immense success, I’d be putting it lightly. For its inception, I asked you to pick your top three films of 2013. As I monitored your responses, it amazed me how many films actually received a vote. I mean, there were only a handful left out in the cold. Which, as you can probably imagine, made for an exciting finish.

Below you will find the 10 films that received the most votes in the first ever “Vote!” poll. Instead of boring you with the details and rambling on about each film, I thought I’d just lay out the results and let each of you comment on the films you love, the films you think should’ve made the list, and the films that shouldn’t have.

Keep in mind that the percentages are low due to the overwhelming response received and a vast choice of films. Also, if you missed our post yesterday, it wasn’t your fault, WordPress has been screwing with me lately. So please click here and check out the newest poll and vote!

Vote! Most Anticipated Films of 2014

interstellar-logo

Since I had such a blast (as I hope you all did as well) with the first open poll, I’ve decided to make it a running segment here at The Cinema Monster! The first vote determined what you, the viewer, thought the best films of 2013 are, and the results will be posted tomorrow. However, now that it’s 2014, we have a new year filled with an immense number of flicks to look forward to!

So, with that in mind, let me officially welcome you to “Vote: Most Anticipated Films of 2014!”

This poll will run exactly the same as its predecessor. Simply click on “Vote” in the main menu and it will direct you to the voting area. Once there, read over an extensive list of films set for release in 2014 and pick your top 3. If you do not see a film you prefer listed, feel free to write it in! Once you’ve completed your vote, please leave a comment informing me of your participation so I don’t have to hunt you down for contribution.

Before I let you go, make sure to search into the films listed you don’t know about, there’s a good chance they’ll affect your votes and your outlook on the year ahead in film. Also, I’d like to send you all a BIG thank you for participating last time around and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the poll’s results. To be honest, they surprised me, to say the least. Now, go on over and vote in the new poll!

Vote! Best of 2013

gravity-poster04

Okay all, this is the post that will initiate what I hope to be my crowning achievement thus far in my blogging career. My objective is to achieve a top 10 list consisting of the best films from the year 2013. Sounds fairly simple, right? Just pick the ten films I feel best represent the year that was in cinema and post it for all the world to see… While you are not wrong in thinking that, I’m dreaming of something much grander…illustrious, timeless. I would like all of you, yes you: fellow bloggers, readers, and film-lovers…wait for it…to create the list!

You think I’m crazy, don’t you? Well, before you burn me at the stake, hear me out. The way this will work is each of you will vote for your top 3 films of 2013 in the poll located in the “vote” section of the main menu above. I’ve listed a significant amount of films for you to chose from. However, if there is a flick I’ve overlooked, you may add the answer to the poll yourself. You will only be allowed to vote once, so think your answers over. Obviously 2013 is not over yet and December is home to several Oscar-caliber films such as “Her,” “American Hustle,” “Out of the Furnace,” “Inside Llewyn Davis,” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.” So, if you plan on seeing any or all of these films, or any film that you feel might crack your top 3, you might want to hold off for a bit until you’ve seen every movie you want to. Voting will close sometime in January, obviously the earlier the better! Lastly, when you complete your selections, please comment below the poll that you have participated so I don’t have to track you down for no reason. Then, when polling closes, I will compile the results into a top 10 list for all to read and share. It’ll be a list that we, true cinephiles with opinions and voices that differ from snobby critics, can be proud of. A list that any film-lover can understand!

So to recap…head on over to the “vote” section of The Cinema Monster, select the 3 films you feel are the best of 2013…and vote! Then quickly comment below that you’ve voted so I don’t have to sniff you out… then you are done! It’s sooo easy! There is no excuse for you not to participate! I’m calling in all the favours…I will hunt you down. I will spam your Twitter account, Facebook, Blogs, Websites…any and all forms of social networking and interaction until you vote.

Now, I’d just like to give a big thank you to all of my beloved readers and fellow bloggers in advance for your time and votes!
